✏️ Young Writers Club – KS2✏️
We are delighted to announce the launch of a new Young Writers Club starting after Christmas. This club is designed for KS2 pupils who enjoy being creative, developing their writing skills, and experimenting with different styles of storytelling.
📚 Who Is It For?
The club is open to keen writers in Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6) who would enjoy working alongside like-minded, enthusiastic young authors. A shared love of writing will be the focus and motivation for attending.
🖋️ What Will Children Do?
Pupils will be supported in a creative and encouraging environment, with engaging stimuli provided to help them produce writing they can feel proud of. In Week 1, the focus will be on exploring Gothic writing.
💡 Learning Approach
The emphasis of the club will be on free writing and idea exploration, rather than spelling, handwriting, or grammar. Children will also have opportunities to share their work, giving them a platform to express their voice and creativity.
🗓️ When and Where
The Young Writers Club will run for the first six weeks of the Spring Term (first half-term). Sessions will take place every Thursday from 3.30pm to 4.45pm in the Year 3 classroom, led by Mrs Boylan.
💷 Places and Cost
There are 15 places available, allocated strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the applications have been processed we will contact you to confirm your place and send a payment invoice. Before the first session full payment must be made otherwise the place will be offered to another child. The cost is £5 per session, with a commitment to all six sessions (£30 total).
⚠️ Attendance at Other Clubs
If your child currently attends Night Owls or On Your Marks clubs, you must notify the relevant club leader if your child will be attending Young Writers Club instead. Failure to do so may result in you still being liable for charges for these clubs.
