St. Anthony's PTFA

Hello from your Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) Committee for 2019-2020. Following our AGM, the following people have been voted on to the PTFA:

Co-chairs: Michelle Cross and Clare Moore

Secretary: Annemarie Porritt

Co-treasurers: Sandeep Allison and Shalini Chandru

Publicity: Susie Rack

The PTFA is a long-standing charitable organisation open to all parents, carers and staff at St. Anthony's Catholic Primary School. We raise money to enhance our children's learning experiences and since reforming in 2017 have banked over £13,000 through our regular events and activities. We are extremely grateful for the generous support we receive from parents and volunteers, and look forward to achieving wonderful things together over the next year.  Please get in touch with any ideas or just come along to our next meeting in school.

Valentines Disco 2020

All the flossing, knee-sliding and face-painting to usher in Valentines Day raised more than £660 for the PTFA. Warm thanks go to our parent helpers and all the teachers who attended.

Christmas Fayre 2019

We were thrilled to raise more than £1,000 with our Christmas event on 13 December, with the kids enjoying festive snacks, games, and a visit from Santa himself. A huge thanks to all our supporters, including the teachers, parents and guardians and all the local businesses that donated prizes for our hugely popular raffle and tombola. Monies raised will be going towards the children's new reading books.

Movie night

Children attended a PTFA movie night in school on 18 November, enjoying Home Alone, Monsters Inc and Trolls with their friends. Thanks for supporting this event - it raised an incredible £330 for the children.

Our playground gym equipment next to the Year 3 classroom was paid for by the PTFA in summer 2019. We hope the children will enjoy using the outdoor gym for many years to come - and improve their health and fitness at the same time.

Over the past year we have raised more than £3,500 by holding fayres, discos, movie nights and crafty events. We have contributed to the year 6 prom, the First Holy Communion Celebrations, class funds,  new play-time sports equipment and the Sydenham Road planters.

Our next big challenge is to help the school raise £20,000 to replace some vital IT equipment. We are sure you can appreciate the enormity of this task and will be grateful for any fund boosting ideas.

Recent events

The 2019 Summer Fayre raised more than £1,300 for the school. Huge thanks to the outgoing PTFA committee and all the parents, teachers and children who supported the event.

                                                             The 2019 PTFA Summer Fayre

Our Easter Bonnet Competition raised over £110 for the school. McColl's of Sydenham generously donated lots of eggs for the winners and Creams gave us a voucher as top prize! Thanks to everyone for entering in to the spirit of it! We also made more than £50 during Laps for Laptops with the help of all our volunteers who helped to run the tuck shop.

Easy ways to raise funds

Do you work for one of the companies listed below? These and other organisations offer to match the amount of money raised for charity by employees. It's an easy way to considerably bolster the PTFA's funds and we are grateful to our community members who already regularly help us out in this way. Why not ask your employer about it today?

Do you shop online? Did you know that every time you buy something you could be raising money for our school? The site offers charities and other good causes like schools, sports clubs and community groups the opportunity to raise money every time their supporters shop online. On average, each retailer will donate 5% of the cost of your shopping - and those donations soon mount up.
