🚗 Transport

Parent support is essential to transport children to and from the event.

  • Children should arrive directly at Kingsley Playing Fields by 10:15am
  • Collection will be from the same location at 12:30pm
If you are unable to transport your child yourself, you may arrange a lift with another parent. A WhatsApp group has been created to facilitate this (see below).

Year 4 Pupils:

  • Year 4 children will be swimming at Newbold Leisure Centre, so they should be collected from the main entrance at 10:10am for transport to the event.
  • Mr Bromley will also be at swimming, so please wait with the children until he arrives at the venue to register them.

💬 WhatsApp Group

To help parents coordinate transport and share information, a WhatsApp group has been set up for parents of participating children.
This group will be used to:

  • Arrange lifts to and from the event
  • Share reminders and updates
  • Share photographs

👕 Clothing

Children should come dressed appropriately for outdoor running:

  • School PE kit
  • Trainers suitable for running on grass
  • Jumper or hoodie
  • Waterproof coat (depending on the weather)
  • Water bottle
Children may wear their kit for the entire school day, so no school clothes are needed.

🩺 Inhalers & Auto-Injectors

If your child requires an inhaler or auto-injector, please ensure it is clearly labelled and brought in a small bag on the day.

🥪 Lunch

Although the event is expected to finish by 12:30pm, we cannot guarantee the kitchen will still be open when children return. Please provide a packed lunch for your child in case the event runs longer than expected.

🏃 Practice Sessions

To help children prepare for the event, practice sessions will take place over the next half term:

  • Every Tuesday and Thursday
  • Lunchtime at 1:00pm
Please ensure children bring appropriate footwear specifically for cross country practice, separate from their usual PE kit. This footwear:
  • Should be suitable for running on grass
  • Can get muddy and wet

If you are happy for your child to take part in the event, please complete the form at the link below.
