Glow in the Dark Dodgeball Festival

We’re excited to share that our Year 5 children have been invited to take part in a Glow in the Dark Dodgeball Festival on Wednesday 1st July 2026, from 9:15am to 11:00am.
The morning will include a series of exciting dodgeball games played in a glow-in-the-dark environment against other local schools. 

Transport

We kindly ask for parent support in transporting children to and from the event. Children will need to be dropped off at Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre at 9:10am. They will not need to go to school first. 
We will be walking back after the event so there will be no need to collect the,. 

Please note that, due to the number of schools attending and for safeguarding reasons, parents will not be able to spectate.

Lunch

Children will return to school in time for lunch as normal. As they will not be in school for morning registration, please select your child’s lunch choice on the consent form.

We also recommend that children bring a healthy snack to keep them going throughout the morning.

Clothing

As it is a glow in the dark event, children are encouraged to wear bright and neon clothing. They are welcome to wear items suitable for sport. They will not need to bring school clothes however please ensure they have a jumper to wear for afternoon sessions. 

Their kit should include:

• A T-Shirt

• Shorts or leggings

• Trainers

• Jumper or hoodie

• Water bottle

Inhalers & Auto-Injectors

If your child requires an inhaler or auto-injector, please ensure it is clearly labelled and brought in a small bag on the day.
