The ethos of this school is Catholic. The school was founded by the Catholic Church to provide education for children of Catholic families.  Whenever there are more applications than places available, priority will be given to Catholic children in accordance with the Over Subscription Criteria which can be found in the relevant Admissions Arrangements for the correct academic year we are currently in. As a Catholic school, we aim to provide a Catholic education for all our pupils.  At a Catholic school, Catholic doctrine and practice permeate every aspect of the school’s activity.  It is essential that the Catholic character of the school’s education be fully supported by all families in the school.  We therefore hope that all parents will give their full, unreserved and positive support for the aims and ethos of the school.  This does not affect the right of an applicant who is not Catholic to apply for and be admitted to a place at the school in accordance with the admission arrangements.

Applying for A Reception Class Place

In-Year Applications

You can apply for a place for your child at any time outside the normal admissions round, and we will offer a place if one is available. 

As a Catholic school, you are required to complete two forms:

• The Local Authority application form, which can be submitted online via the parent portal here
• The Supplementary Information Form, which can be found below. This must be returned to the school office. 

Supplementary Information Form

Supplementary Information Forms must be returned directly to the school at St. Anthony's Catholic Primary School, Sydenham Drive, Leamington Spa CV31 1NJ or by email at admin3544@welearn365.com. 

If a Supplementary Information Form is not submitted directly to the school this may affect the priority given to the application and could affect the likelihood of your child being offered a place.

Standard Application Form

An application should be made via the Local Authority by completing the in-year admissions form, the link to which can be found above.

The local authority will forward your application to the school for consideration by the governors.

More Applications than Places

Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements will be applied. The full admissions arrangements can be accessed below. Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.

If there are no places available, the local authority will notify you of this decision on behalf of the governors and the child will be added to the waiting list.  Please see the admission arrangements for more details regarding waiting lists.

You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible.  Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of its receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of its receipt.

You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful. Information about the appeal process can be found here
