Welcome to Year 1

General Information

Year 1 are taught by Mrs Speller from Monday to Wednesday and Mrs Fenerty on Thursday and Friday.  Our Teaching and Learning Assistants are Mrs Hickey(Wed, Thurs, Fri), Miss Richardson (Mon, Tues), Miss Hudson (Mon - Thurs) and Mrs Standon (Friday AM)

All the children will be heard to read at least once a week, by an adult in school, so it is very important that their book bags (please, no backpacks) and reading books are in school every day.  Children will also be heard to read in their Read Write Inc groups. It is extremely important that children are heard to read at home every day. It only has to be a few pages, but little and often really is the key!

Our PE days are Monday and Thursday. Children need to have a full PE kit in school every day.

Please, please, please put your child's name on EVERYTHING.  It is amazing how easily the children lose or misplace items from their PE kits, their uniforms, their coats, water bottles and even their shoes!
