Hello from St. Anthony's P.T.F.A !

Hello from your PTFA Committee for 2017! These are the Committee roles and responsibilities for this school year:

Joint Chairs - Sarah Taylor and Emilie Onyekwe

Secretary - role currently vacant

Joint Treasurers - Harvey Bal and Jinder Flora

Publicity Officer - Susie Rack

Committee Members - Ronan Mitchell and Shalini Chandru

We are the newest volunteers to this long-standing charitable organisation made up of parents whose children attend St. Anthony's Catholic Primary School.  Our main aim is to raise money to enhance our children's learning experiences and so far this year we have raised funds through the fantastic Summer Fete, spooky Halloween disco and an Easter Craft session. We are extremely grateful for the generous support we receive from parents and volunteers, and look forward to achieving wonderful things together in the Autumn term!

If you have any ideas, equipment or talents that could help us then please let us know.

Next meeting: We will be meeting between 6-7pm to plan our Christmas Fete on December 4th. All welcome.

A vacancy has arisen on the PTFA for a new secretary. Please let us know if you are interested in the role, either as an individual or a job share.

Our first target was to raise enough funds for some new play equipment to fill the vacant area outside the year 3 classroom. We are in discussions with various providers after hitting our target of £6,000 in our first year of fundraising! More news to come on this.

We do our best to make sure that all children at St Anthony's benefit from your generous donations. We have given every class teacher a sum of money to spend on their year group as they wish. We have also provided funds towards the memorable celebrations for the First Holy Communion and the Leaver's Ball.

Some dates for the diary...

Quiz Night - 15th June, 7.30pm onwards. Back by popular demand! A fun and friendly evening for adults with fish and chips, pizza and licensed bar. Tickets £7 - all welcome.

Sports Day  - 3rd July - we will be selling morning pastries plus drinks and tuck later on.

Summer Fayre - 13th July... more to follow!

St Anthony's PTFA Christmas Fete December 15th

Our Santa's Grotto, film night, raffle, stalls and refreshments helped raise nearly £1,000. We are delighted to have now reached our first target of £6,000 for new playground equipment. The children will be having their say ...more news to come!

Halloween Disco

A fang-tastic time was had by all at this year's Halloween disco. Ticket sales and tuck raised a grand total of £480 for the PTFA. Particular thanks to all the parents who came along to help out - we really appreciate it.

Summer Fete

We are thrilled that our summer fete in July raised more than £1200, thanks to the generous contributions and support from parents, friends and local businesses. Children and parents enjoyed a BBQ and bar, fairground rides and live dance performances, plus a lively haka from years 5 and 6! Warwickshire Firefighters were in attendance (for educational purposes) and the popular raffle featured fantastic prizes kindly donated by local businesses including Warwick Castle, the Play Farm, Leamington Wine Company, Aubrey Allen, Gary Maxwell photography, Studio 49, JLR and many more! Thanks to everyone for coming along and supporting it - we hope you enjoyed it as much as us.

Ben Nevis Climb

One of our Reception parents, Cesar Silva, braved extreme winds and freezing temperatures to summit Ben Nevis in mid-February, raising £540 for the PTFA. Cesar is a former SAS man and experienced climber who has reached many of the world’s highest peaks, raising money for a variety of charities as he goes. He has dedicated this most recent challenge to raising funds for St Anthony's PTFA and we are very grateful for his efforts on our behalf.
