Hello from St. Anthony's P.T.F.A !
Hello from your PTFA Committee for 2018-19! These are the Committee roles and responsibilities for this school year:
Joint Chairs - Sarah Taylor and Emilie Onyekwe
Secretary - role currently vacant
Joint Treasurers - Harvey Bal and Jinder Flora
Publicity Officer - Susie Rack
Committee Members - Ronan Mitchell and Shalini Chandru
We are the newest volunteers to this long-standing charitable organisation made up of parents whose children attend St. Anthony's Catholic Primary School. Our aim is to raise money to enhance our children's learning experiences and since reforming in 2017 we have banked almost £9,000 for the school through our Christmas and Summer Fetes, discos, quiz nights and craft sessions. We are extremely grateful for the generous support we receive from parents and volunteers, and look forward to achieving wonderful things together in the Autumn term!
Please let us know if you have ideas or talents that might help us!
Next meeting: We will be meeting at 6pm on Monday 8th October. All welcome.
Our first target was to raise enough funds for some new play equipment to fill the vacant area outside the year 3 classroom. We are in discussions with various providers to create an outdoor gym after hitting our target of £6,000 in our first year of fundraising! More news to come on this.
We do our best to make sure that all children at St Anthony's benefit from your generous donations. We are giving money to improve the pond area in the secret garden for science lessons and Forest School. Mr Bromley will be investing some of our funds into play equipment to keep the children moving at break time. We'll also be contributing to some sturdy boxes for an outdoor library this year.
Some dates for the diary...
Christmas Fayre - 14th December 3.30-5.30pm. We will be organising a Santa's grotto, raffle, tombola, festive crafts, stalls and refreshments. Please join us!
Summer Fete July 2018
The teachers vied to become top fundraiser at this year's Fete when they manned a stall per class. Mrs Slater came out on top by raising an impressive £94 with her lucky dip! The children's fantastic efforts coupled with the bouncy castle, BBQ, raffle, bar and games helped us raise more than £1,000. Thank you to all the companies such as Warwick Castle, Birtellis, the Playfarm and Mr Karting who donated our raffle prizes and to all of you for supporting this event so generously!
Our Santa's Grotto, film night, raffle, stalls and refreshments helped raise nearly £1,000, taking us to our first target of £6,000 for new playground equipment! More news to come!
A fang-tastic time was had by all at this year's Halloween disco. Ticket sales and tuck raised a grand total of £480 for the PTFA. Particular thanks to all the parents who came along to help out - we really appreciate it.
One of our Reception parents, Cesar Silva, braved extreme winds and freezing temperatures to summit last year, raising £540 for the PTFA. Cesar is a former SAS man and experienced climber who has reached many of the world’s highest peaks, raising money for a variety of charities as he goes. He has dedicated this most recent challenge to raising funds for St Anthony's PTFA and we are very grateful for his efforts on our behalf.
