When a child turns three they are entitled to 15 hours childcare each week during term time (38 weeks). Some children are eligible for 30 hours if their family meets the criteria.
To see if your child is eligible to receive 30 hours government funded childcare please visit:
http://www.gov.uk/apply-30-hours-free-tax-free-childcare
If you aren't eligible for the 30 hour funding you can pay for your child to do additional hours at a cost of £8.00 per hour or £24 for a full morning (9-12) or afternoon (12-3) session. Where possible, we ask that the children attend the Nursery 5 days per week. We do have wrap-around care options available which you can view here.
We have places in our Nursery for children aged 3 and 4. Application forms for admittance are available from the school office and can be submitted after your child's second birthday. This can be returned to the school via email or in person along with:
Once we have received your completed admissions form, your child's name will be added to our Nursery list, as long as we are able to fulfil your request. Places are allocated on a first come first served basis. Please notify us as soon as possible to any changes of address or phone number, or if you no longer require the place.
The Nursery class has a maximum number of children that it can accept. There is a maximum capacity of 26 children in the morning and 24 in the afternoon. If there are more applications than there are places, the governors will follow an admission criteria, which is:
Where there is an oversubscription in any of the above categories, priority will be given based on distance from the school.
Parents are welcome to visit the Nursery for a tour. Please contact the school office to arrange a convenient time.
If your child comes to our Nursery, you are not obliged to choose the Reception Class at St. Anthony's Catholic Primary school for your child. Equally, attendance in our Nursery does not guarantee that your child will be offered a place at St. Anthony's Catholic Primary school and all parents should follow the normal school admittance procedures.
The children have lunch at 12pm. If you wish, your child can have a hot school meal which are all cooked on our school site each day. We cater to all dietary requirements, including those associated with allergies. School lunches are £2.85 per day and information about menus etc can be found here. You can also provide your child with a lunch from home if you would like to.
