Welcome to our Nursery

Our Nursery class offers every child a safe, caring and friendly environment where they can develop and learn with confidence. We value every child in our setting as a unique individual, and we endeavour to cater to their differing and varied needs through our engaging provision and by building positive, strong relationships with the children and their families.

We have three very distinct and well used learning areas for our Nursery children to explore. We have a large, engaging and well-resourced classroom where the children can enjoy a wide variety of activities such as role play, construction activities and water play. We also have two outdoor areas for the children to spend time in all year round. Our main outdoor area is a replication of what the children have inside and we also have our garden area where the children enjoy playing on our bikes and scooters and making pies in our mud kitchen!

We work hard, in partnership with parents, to make sure that every child feels happy and safe in nursery; helping them to be ready to learn, happy and curious about the world around them!  All nursery learning takes place through play-based activities, sometimes adult-led and sometimes child-initiated. The activities are based on the needs and interests of each child and planned using the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. Each week we have a special theme or story- you can find out more in our weekly newsletter posted on Dojo classroom and on the notice board outside our Nursery classroom.

As a school-based Nursery, we are also part of a much larger school community. We are involved in all aspects of school life, joining in with big celebrations, Mass and other school events which really helps to prepare the children for their next steps in their educational journey when they start school. We are also able to use the wider school environment to support learning, for example, the school field and the hall where we have our weekly PE lessons led by Mr Bromley, our school specialist PE teacher.
