Science Curriculum Statement
Children are naturally curious and at St. Anthony’s we encourage them to be interested, ask questions, wonder, consider and reason. We want them to be inquisitive and wherever possible, learn through varied and systematic investigations, exploring ideas both independently and when working with others. Through our progressive curriculum, we want to promote curiosity and create a sense of ‘awe and wonder’.
We aim to provide opportunities for critical analysis and evaluation of evidence, foster respect for all living and non-living things and enrich children’s learning with a broad scientific vocabulary which enables them to express their thoughts.
We aim to build a culture in science education where difference is valued and part of what makes science inspiring.
We aim to equip our children with the scientific enquiry skills and scientific knowledge to understand the uses and implications of science today and in the future; including that that they need for their education, their careers and beyond.
