Sports Day

Dear Parents

As you know we are planning (weather permitting) to hold our annual Sports Day next Tuesday 11th July and all parents are welcome to attend.

Timings- Please note these may differ slightly on the day and are approximate

9.30am – 10.30am – Nursery + Reception

11.00am – 12.30pm – Years 1 + 2

1.30pm – 3.30pm – Years 3,4,5,6

Collection
As in previous years, children in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 will be able to go home with their parents at 1.15pm should they wish to take them. Nursery children may go home directly after their Sports Day at 10.30am, if you wish to take them. Please be aware that if your child normally stays for lunch/afternoon session in Nursery you will still be charged for this.

Clothing
On Sports Day the children represent their House Groups and so we encourage them to support their House by wearing team colours of either red- St. George’s, blue- St. Andrew’s, green- St. Patrick’s or yellow-St.David’s. If you and your child are unsure about which House they are in, please ask Mr Bromley or your child’s Class Teacher on Monday. If your child does not have clothing in their house colour, please do not go out specially to buy anything, as long as they are wearing comfortable sporty clothes, they will be fine. Please ensure your child has comfortable trainers/pumps. Children are welcome to wear face paint in their house colour, however this must be applied at home and must not cover their full face and must not brought into school with them.

Sun protection
Please ensure your child has a sun hat and water bottle with them on the day. If warm weather is forecast for the day, please also apply sun cream before they come to school.

Lunch
You are most welcome to join us for the whole day and bring a picnic to share with your child/ren on the field at lunch time. Please note that if it is raining it may not be possible for us to continue with this plan.
Please be aware there will be no hot lunches on Tuesday, but your child may order a packed lunch through school instead.

Refreshments
Our amazing PTFA will be on hand to provide spectators with refreshments, including ice lollies, so please bring your pennies.

Parent Race
As always, we will be encouraging parents to get involved and have a race themselves. The children love to watch you take part. It will be an egg and spoon race so no need for running spikes or camel packs. Please be aware if you do take part, you do so at your own risk. St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School do not accept responsibility for any injury you cause to yourself or others.
