Yesterday, Wednesday 11th March 2020, some of our children celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time.
We are immensely proud of each and everyone of them and the reflective journey they have been on to prepare themselves for this day. As you can see in the picture below, they left St. Peter's yesterday afternoon filled with the love, mercy and forgiveness of God which shone out of them like sunbeams!
To celebrate this occasion, we gathered as a class this morning with some of our parents in Collective Worship and prayed that God continue to guide us all on our journey of preparation for the Sacrament of the Eucharist, which children will receive in May.
God our Father,
You sent your greatest treasure, Your Son, to show us how to live and to save us from our sins. Help us to seek Jesus always, in the midst of the fields of our lives, and to find Him in the sacraments that he gave us. As we help prepare our children for the Sacrament of the Eucharist, may we guide them to find Your grace and loving mercy.
We ask this in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Saviour and our Lord.
Amen.
Please pray for our children making their First Reconciliation next week as they grow even closer to God... eyelash to eyelash in fact...
