Between February 17th and 19th this year, one of our Nursery parents, Mr Cesar Silva, climbed to the summit of Ben Nevis in Scotland. He made the climb, with 5 other men, who together, call themselves the "Extreme Team". It took the Team, nine hours to reach the Summit, in very difficult weather, with constant rain, cold and very strong winds.
Mr Silva and his team are very experienced climbers who have summited many of the highest mountains both around the UK and in other parts of the world, raising money for a variety of charities as he does so. Mr Silva very kindly suggested that he would like to do this climb in support of raising much needed funds for St. Anthony’s.
This morning two members of the 'Extreme Team' visited St. Anthony's to present the School with a cheque for £540.50. We have been able to add a further £248.00 to the amount from monies raised by parents sponsoring the Climb.
We are exceptionally grateful to Cesar and his Team as this will provide a fantastic start to our fundraising to replace the play equipment we had to take down before Christmas.
